Sam took part in the Open Skiff Nationals, held at Bay of Islands Yacht Club on the 9th of April to the 12 of April. There was a training day and then 3 days of racing. On the first day of racing there were light winds with a 3m ground swell. He did 5 races. Then the cyclone happened on day 2. So, there was no racing. On Day 3 the cyclone was still there, but he did 3 races. There were 4m groundswell and strong winds. Sam came first out of 45 competitors. We are all so proud of him. |
