Check out Kick's Recount

3,2,1… all four of us opened our condensation curtains.

“WOW,” we all shouted at the same time.

“Look at the firewood box, it's covered in snow!” said Lief, her voice full of excitement…

This is what we had been wishing for the whole winter: a huge dump of lush blinding snow.

Once we had scoffed some breakfast, and put on so many layers of clothes, that I felt like a walking burger, we made a dash for the roof box on the car, which held the sleds. To our surprise the whole car was covered in snow. It looked like a huge snowman!!!, we had to get the shovel and start pushing away snow just to get to the doors!

After what felt like an age we got to the roof box and took the sleds out, we were ready to roll. “Where are we going to sled?” asked Bink.

 “Good point” I said.

“I know! We could go to the bike park because no one will be using it in this weather” shouted Bink!

It took a while but eventually we got to the top of the bike park and started to make some lines. At first we didn't slide very well, but Dad said that we first needed to pack in the snow then we would slide better. This took longer than TWO ages, but finally we got it sliding so fast that we were crashing into a pile of snow to stop!!!

Mum said we had been playing for 3 hours so we had to come back for lunch.

“Well that felt like five minutes”, said Lief in a not so excited voice.

She definitely needs some food, I thought.

After we fueled up on toasties, we decided to go back to the bike park, but this time we had a better plan.

Once we got to the top Bink said “which trail are we going to do?”

“The one with the most jumps!” said Lief.

“Oakie doki” said Bloem, pushing off towards a trail.

About half down the trail we came across a proper jump, first we checked it out and made sure the landing was thick with snow, then after a bit Bink said, “it's only snow it won’t hurt”.

When he got into his sled and started pushing off Lief said “this is not going to work”. Amazingly it did work, almost too well.

“That was so much fun” shouted Bink excitedly.

“Ok Lief do you want a go” said Bloem turning towards Lief, but she was already in her sled!

When Bink got up to us he had something to say “farout my butt hurts.”

“Here I come!!” yelled Lief. She was going a whole lot slower than Bink, but when she got to the top of the jump, she flew for a second or two, landed with a thump and didn’t stop there, she started to swerve and squiggle and then she did another jump right off the trail!
